Welcome to Leasey!
If you use JAWS with Microsoft Windows, Leasey is here to make your computer feel more friendly, more productive and more under your control.
Leasey brings together a large collection of tools designed to help with the things many of us do every day: writing documents, reading information, managing notes, finding files, listening to radio and podcasts, keeping appointments, storing contacts, checking spelling, using social media, asking ChatGPT questions, and much more.
But Leasey is not just a collection of features. It is intended to make computing less of a struggle and more of a pleasure. It gives you practical, keyboard-friendly ways of doing things which might otherwise take longer, feel awkward, or be difficult to remember.
You might use Leasey Word to open a PDF and read it in a more manageable form. You might use Leasey File Manager to copy, move or organise files without battling with difficult selection commands. You might use Leasey Notes to keep research, recipes, support notes or personal reminders in one place. You might use Leasey Media Centre to enjoy radio, podcasts and audio files. You might use Leasey Diary to keep track of appointments and tasks. You might use Leasey Cuts to open the folders, documents and web pages you use every day, quickly and easily.
Some people will use Leasey for work. Some will use it for study. Some will use it for hobbies, entertainment, keeping organised, or staying in touch. However you choose to use it, the aim is the same: to help you get things done with greater confidence and less effort.
Leasey has been designed with JAWS users firmly in mind. Many Leasey applications include clear labels, a predictable Tab order, spoken confirmation messages, Where Am I help, and access to the searchable Leasey Command Centre. You do not have to remember every command before you can begin. Leasey gives you ways to explore, learn and return to features when you need them.
Leasey 11.5 is an especially important release. The product is now simply called Leasey. In older versions of the documentation, there were references to two separate products. That split has now ended. The older menu-driven interface with human speech is no longer included. In its place, Leasey 11.5 provides a modern set of applications and tools, including the Leasey Start Menu, Leasey Main Menu, Leasey Word, Leasey File Manager, Leasey Notes, Leasey Diary, Leasey Media Centre, Leasey Cuts and many more.
If you are new to Leasey, please do not feel that you have to learn everything at once. Leasey is a large product, and it is perfectly fine to begin with just one or two features. You might start with the Leasey Key, the help system, Leasey Word, Leasey Select, Leasey Texts or Leasey Cuts. Then, as your confidence grows, you can explore the applications which matter most to you.
This documentation is deliberately detailed. It has been written for blind people, JAWS users, trainers, support staff, and anyone who prefers clear step-by-step guidance. You can read it from beginning to end, or you can go straight to the section covering the feature you want to use.
Above all, Leasey is about choice. You can use a few favourite features every day, or you can gradually discover the full collection over time. There is no single correct way to use it. The best way is the way which helps you feel comfortable, capable and in control.
We hope Leasey 11.5 becomes a helpful companion in your daily computing: something which saves time, reduces frustration, opens up new possibilities, and perhaps even makes using your computer that little bit more enjoyable.
We very much hope that working with Leasey is a trouble-free experience. However, should you require technical support in the day to day usage of Leasey, this can be obtained by sending an Email message to support@leaseycentral.com. Please give as much information about the problem as you can. The more information we have, the faster the response time will be. You can also contact us by telephone.
Telephone (in the UK) 02921-051325.

In the event that we need to remote onto your computer to resolve a problem, we use a system called Remote Incident Manager. This is accessed by pressing the Grave Accent key, (referred to as the Leasey Key), followed by the Backspace key.
If Remote Incident Manager is not installed, it will be downloaded to your computer. When the download is complete, a Dialog Box will be available, asking if you would like to install the program. Press Enter to continue.
When the install begins, it is likely to take a minute or two to complete but it will prompt you when the process has concluded.
When the software has been installed, from this point forward you can press the Grave Accent key followed by Backspace. A web-page-like environment will be available with an Edit Field which should be focused. The title of this page is: Remote Incident Manager: Receive Remote Help. Focus is immediately in the Edit Field. Some text is below this which is as follows: Please enter the keyword you received from the person helping you.
When prompted by the technician on the phone, type in the key word which you will mutually agree between you, then press Enter.
This program can also be downloaded and installed by activating this link:

You may also like to subscribe to our Leasey Email list. This is a good way to get support from the Leasey developers and other users of the product. You can also suggest ideas for future improvement.
